I have noticed that I love foreign cultures much more than others,so I had watched a lot of foreign dramas trying to know about something which can make me get closer to the cultures I like.According to the videos, movies I had watched, I know more and more taboos and racial words which are really have to be aware of.Because of the opportunities which I had met some foreign friends,I always tried my best to learn the foreign culture features from them, and shared some culture features of mine, too.I think if people show their respect and eager to care about others' feelings, and then there will be even less misunderstanding when people communicate with people who are different from us.

When we make the intercultural communication, it is important to have the realization of different cultures. I think there are many ways to understand the cultures of various countries. In my case, I follow the news about other countries every day. It not only helps me to have global view but makes me know more about other countries. Even though, I think the best way is watching the movie. A movie contains people, language and culture in one or more than one country. Therefore, it is spontaneous for us to contact with everything about the countries. And I believe the more realization about various cultures we have, the less embarrassing communication will happen.

  3. In modern society, it becomes easier to avoid embarrassment due to cultural shock. All we have to do is look up information online, in tour guiding books, or ask others who have contact with the culture before. By doing so, I think it is not impossible to avoid 95%of the awkwardness. Then what about the rest 5%? It’s all about having an open mind and also opened eyes. One can never fully understand a culture, for culture is alive and forever-changing. All one can do is to keep his eyes peeled, and search for the measure to prevent embarrassment inside the culture. Having an open mind, not afraid of stepping out, that’s all one needs. Also, one must learn how to react calmly when being offended due to cultural difference. Intercultural communication is a mutual thing, and avoiding embarrassment including not making others feel awful. Thus, be prepared to act and react is the only method to have a successful intercultural communication.

Culture shock is an influnce that happens in every nationalities around the world especially in China and Russia even in Taiwan. In the last class,I find that group one had talked about part of culture shock.Their topic is "language death".And I want to borrow some ideas and informations from this group.Culture shock is one serious reason that causes language death. In their power point,we could see there are so many nationality dialects dying now through transportation innovation, culture exchange and technology process. But there is one language rebirthes successfully. It is Hebrew.Through everyone‘s effort and the ancient books were translated sucessfully and in fashion. This language is used by more and more people. And now  is Israel‘s offical language.I think every thing especially everyone‘s identity to their nationality will make successful and beneicial communication.
